The jubilee volume Archives of Budo 2024 is subtitled Journal of Innovative Agonology. Although the publisher of the journal has changed, its mission has not.

The Reader is undoubtedly inconvenienced by the lack of direct redirection from the new journal platform to the archive volumes. This is a temporary technical problem. However, this is one of the reasons why all publications of the jubilee and innovative volume will be marked with one date with a symbolic ‘twenty’ (December 20 is also a reference to the date Poland connected to the Internet in 1991). The most important thing is to fulfill the cognitive and social mission of science – to provide new valuable knowledge as quickly as possible. The final decision on whether this knowledge is really valuable belongs not only to the authors of the publications, who will cite works qualified for INNOAGON (acronym innovative agonology). These indicators are only seemingly the easiest to determine. So far, in less than two years, the largest number of scientific publications qualified for INNOAGON have been published in the impressive Applied Human Factor in Ergonomic International project: AHFE San Francisco 2023, USA; AHFE Nice 2024, France; AHFE Honolulu, Hawaii 2024, USA. Unfortunately, these publications are not yet visible in the Web of Science literature database, the product of which is not only the prestigious Impact Factor, but also the basic data for calculating the Hirsch index of authors and journals.
However, the most important indicator, but difficult to evaluate quantitatively and qualitatively, are the unique INNOAGON methods and tools already implemented in the area of broadly understood health prevention and survival from micro to macro scale. These are the subtleties that the Editor-in-Chief refers to, among others, in the first publication of this anniversary and innovative volume: BUDO & INNOAGON – historical complexity but similar missions.
Mathematically speaking, individual modules of the journal, following the example of the title update that has already been made, will be modified and added in accordance with the dynamically changing social reality. In this reality, struggle (called various synonyms) is a constant factor. Unfortunately, science about struggle (agonology) still belongs to esoteric knowledge.
Invariably, the journal is the entity of intellectual resistance, based on evidence, to the pathology of promoting neo-gladiatorship in any form. Especially camouflaged under the attractive name of mixed martial arts (MMA). This attractiveness is enhanced by the branch journal Archives of Budo Science of Martial Arts and Extreme Sports (first edition 2013), awarded after 11 years the first Impact Factor 1.2. If this journal does not become the property of promoters of neo-gladiatorship, the subdiscipline of science of martial arts will go down in history as an ephemeral science. The appropriation of 69% of this name to camouflage neo-gladiatorism is reason enough to take the effort to deprive the promoters of this pathology of the ability to manipulate science. The Internet mentioned at the beginning is a key element for the effectiveness of this negative promotion, but it is not an ally of science. It was the Internet that caused the irreversible end of the effectiveness of Emperor Constantine the Great's edict of 326 banning gladiatorial games.
The position presented by the Editorial Office has nothing to do with censorship. On the contrary, it demonstrates a concern for the seriousness and authority of science, for the comfort of fulfilling its social mission in a dignified, effective and responsible manner.
